Potassium Disproportionated Rosin Ester | PX-DR50 | Amber-colored oily transparent liquid | 50%±1 | 200Kg/drum |
Potassium Disproportionated Rosin Ester is a product independently developed by Zibo Pengxin Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., and it complies with enterprise standards. This product is produced using solar heating for low-temperature reaction technology, where disproportionated rosin undergoes esterification with alcohols and carboxylic acids. At 50% active content, Potassium Disproportionated Rosin Ester maintains a highly transparent amber-colored oily liquid. The esterification reaction eliminates the conjugated double bond system, enhances the polymerization rate of synthetic rubber and resin, effectively reduces costs, and minimizes environmental pollution. This product primarily functions as an emulsifier in the emulsion polymerization of synthetic rubbers such as styrene-butadiene, chloroprene, high-styrene, and ABS synthetic resin. During polymerization, the emulsifier disperses monomer particles in water to form a stable colloidal system.
This product differs from potassium disproportionated rosin soap. Currently, domestic production of potassium disproportionated rosin soap mainly involves saponification of disproportionated rosin with potassium hydroxide alkali solution, resulting in a darker product color and common issues such as gelation and crystallization, which severely affect the speed and effectiveness of emulsion polymerization in rubber production. In contrast, Potassium Disproportionated Rosin Ester at 50% active content remains a highly transparent amber-colored oily liquid, making it convenient for use, packaging, and transportation.
Disproportionated rosin is a product obtained through a disproportionation reaction where part of the rosin is oxidized and another part is reduced in the presence of a catalyst. The disproportionation reaction enables rearrangement through hydrogen transfer between abietic acid-type resin acid molecules, eliminating the conjugated double bond system. Rosin acids with conjugated double bond structures inhibit the polymerization of synthetic rubber and resin, leading to a decreased polymerization rate. This occurs because free radicals generated by the redox reaction system must enter micelles formed by the emulsifier or emulsifier-protected monomer polymer latex particles to initiate polymerization. The presence of conjugated double bonds in the emulsifier component consumes a large number of free radicals, preventing polymerization from proceeding, which manifests as a reduced polymerization rate in production.
